I saw this scene - no idea what they did demonstrate for - and snapped this photo. When I made the album, this picture landed on the "not to use"-pile. Recently, I stumbled upon it and scanned it.

It was sometimes a bizarre year - with many highlights and and some really sad moments.

Lakehurst, May 6, 1937 - The Hindenburg crash

Now it is 75 years, since the end of the age of the airships (or Zeppelins) began. I was born too late to see this giants. My grandfather had this luck, he died 1986. Sometimes I'd like to ask him so many questions, about this era. Fortunately, he was a collector, of magazines and newspapers, and among others, he saved a magazine featuring this tragic accident.
