Losses and other things
Had a pause in posting some news, 'cause there was a death in the family. Pain, grief and loss - its something that we have to accept. Sometimes its hard.
Since my last post, there were so many things that happened - a pop star icon and a kung fu legend died - a french airbus disappered - a revolt against the mullahs in iran started and we saw the birth of a new icon for the iranian people. For me, besides all the losses und changes everywhere, there were also some very beautiful moments. Moments of love, happiness and being always in the knowledge of the strength and support that you get from your friends.
Now, I'm looking forward to a trip to London, I wasn't there since 2002. I'm really excited about this.
Meanwhile....
because of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, there are so many interesting articles, tv documentations and pictures around - it's overwhelming. I hope that we will see another man on the moon in my lifetime, or on Mars. In my opinion, our future lies in space. No nation, not countries, only mankind.

08.03.2009 - RIP Mike van Audenhove
Genau vor einer Woche hast Du diese Welt verlassen, viel zu früh. Am 12. März wurde im Züritipp Dein letzter Comic veröffentlicht. Wie immer, direkt aus dem Leben gegriffen. Wir werden Deinen feinen Humor, Deine Beobachtungsgabe, Deinen Zeichenstrich vermissen.
Nun bist Du hoffentlich dort, wo sich alle grossen Comiczeichner treffen. Jack Kirby, Will Eisner, Bob Kane, Hergé, Wilhelm Busch und wie sie alle heissen.
Ich bin froh, dass ich Gelegenheit hatte, Dich bei der Comicbörse in Zürich zu treffen, und ein paar Worte mit Dir wechseln zu können.
Besonders Freude habe ich an den Illustrationen, für die Du Dir an den Signierstunden Zeit nahmst.
Ich werde sie in Ehren halten.

Dieses K.H. Scheer-Abenteuer wurde nie als Taschenbuch veröffentlicht. Doch auch das Cover hat mich sehr angesprochen.
Ich stolperte vor Jahren in einem Buch über SF-Literatur darüber. In einem Comic- und SF-Antiquariat wurde ich schliesslich fündig, dazu waren die beiden Hefte (eine Kuriosität am Rande - 2 Hefte - Teil 1 + 2, aber nur eine Nummer, die 260) noch in einem sehr guten Zustand.
