Another Update

Just a little update: My parents and my brother are well. They all recovered from COVID-19. They were incredibly lucky!

Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and medical personnel who helped my father in the hospital.

I hope this will be over soon.

Update

What strange times.

On May, 20th we were supposed to fly to our beloved London, with the whole family. Planned for months, it was destined to be glorious.

But....

Lockdown everywhere. It's global. A tiny virus has the world on its grip.

My parents and my brother contracted the virus, and go through the several states of this mysterious beast. My brother has already recovered, my father is with fever in the hospital, and my mother is at home, suffering from back pains and fatigue and has lost the ability to taste food and drinks. They are in good hands, the hospital here has capacity and good doctors, and they also phone regularly my mother. She is strong, still cooks for herself, checks her temperature 3 times a day, and is in contact with us via WhatsApp.

I hope we will get through it. Verily.

The world won't be the same, but we will endure and survive.

The world is changing

Since my last post, everything changed. The world is in lockdown, I am working in homeoffice, and we feel like in a movie like „Outbreak“. People are hoarding toilet paper (Europe) and guns and ammunition (USA, where else....), my favourite restaurants, cinemas and comic shops are closed, my parents are in self-isolation and travel is almost impossible...
Stay safe and healthy, help each other, it will pass, one day. And we will remember the time where nature recovered, and getting richer and richer was not longer important....

On April 30th, I managed finally to see the movie! I avoided every spoiler, and it was worth it. (I was lucky, because today it is very difficult to do so). It was awesome! Go see it!

Perry Rhodan 3000 im Literaturhaus München

Der Anlass am 9. Februar 2019 war an einem schönen Ort, mitten in der Altstadt von München, nicht weit vom legendären Café Luitpold entfernt.

Das Programm war sehr dicht, und vielseitig, doch im Rückblick nicht ganz das, was ich und wohl viele andere erwartet hatten. Klaus N. Frick und Uschi Zietsch führten gut gelaunt durch den Tag, man erfuhr viel Hintergrund, Interessantes über die Mondlandung (die gewesenen und die künftigen), über die neue SOL-Miniserie, Perry Neo 200, und noch ein paar andere Sachen.

Aber: Es wurde den ganzen Tag durch der Mund wässrig gemacht auf den Band 3000, doch am Ende war es irgendwie eine No-Show. Aus Gründen von Spoilervermeidung erfuhr man .... nix.

Es wurde keine Lesung aus dem Roman gemacht, ausser ein paar Zeilen aus der Leseprobe. Es gab nebulöse Hinweise, und eine ausführliche Präsi wie das (umstrittene) Titelbild entstand. Erst in der Fragerunde am Schluss erfuhr man, wielange der Zeitsprung war. Und im Goodie-Bag zum Schluss gabs nur die Leseprobe zum 3000er, also keinen Jubiband. Das war dann doch sehr enttäuschend.

Mein persönliches Highlight (aber auch wieder mit einer Entäuschung verbunden) war der neue Eschbach, mit der Vorgeschichte von Perry. Die Entäuschung war, dass Eschbach nicht kommen konnte, aber sein Roman war schon dort im Verkauf, fast einen Monat vor dem offiziellen Erscheinungsdatum. Toll war, wie ein Vertreter vom Verlag das Buch präsentierte: Witzig, mit vielen Zitaten aus dem Roman, und endlich weiss ich jetzt den Zusammenhang zwischen Dagobert Duck, Forrest Gump und Perry Rhodan..... Ich denke, das Teil ist irgendwo auf Youtube aufzufinden. Sehenswert! Sowas hab ich eigentlich vom 3000er erwartet.
